Faculty often say- I don’t know how- I don’t have the time-
I’m too overwhelmed- to change my strategies. Faculty have all the necessary
pieces to innovative however need a boost to help stretch their imagination to
what is possible.
What to Expect
Several innovative
strategies such as blast lectures, content blocking, podcasting, and white boarding will be
demonstrated. Each option can be applied to a single course or offer an
opportunity for collaboration in a course series to help students learn and
retain content. This session will offer easily digestible pieces to help
faculty ease into a more technology enhanced classroom.
Meet the instructor
MISSI STEC
Missi Stec brings nearly 20 years of experience as a faculty member in diverse academic roles. Her work seamlessly integrates her passion for technology with a commitment to enhancing the student experience in nursing education. Internationally renowned for her innovative pedagogical strategies in online learning, Dr. Stec’s research focuses on the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Her mixed-methods research project, Exploring Adaptation to a Curriculum Delivered via iPad, was grant funded and has resulted in multiple published articles on integrating technology into nursing curricula. Her recent research examines faculty confidence in using structured development programs to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning environments.
